KFC Malaysia and Johor Motorsports Racing (JMR) hosted a special meet-and-greet event over the weekend at KFC Stulang Laut, engaging young fans and sharing Malaysian pride on their home turf.
The highlight of the event was definitely getting to meet the JMR drivers and Johor princes — Tunku Panglima Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Putera Tunku Abu Bakar Sultan Ibrahim.
Both Johor princes currently participate in the Asian Le Mans Series and the SRO GT World Challenge series, driving a Mercedes AMG GT3 powered by Triple Eight Racing and competing in the Asia and Australia championship series.
The event not only celebrated five years of collaboration, but also reaffirmed KFC Malaysia’s commitment to partnering with JMR throughout the entirety of 2024.
This enduring partnership reflects KFC Malaysia’s dedication to promoting and contributing to the growth of the sports landscape locally, particularly within the dynamic realm of motorsports facilitated by JMR.
Ultimately, KFC Malaysia and JMR hope to put Malaysian motorsports on the map, while cultivating interest among Malaysian youth and budding motorsports talents.
To mark this milestone, KFC Malaysia and JMR hosted students from local universities and vocational institutions across Johor.
This includes Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, and Kolej Vokasional Tanjung Puteri.
During a Sembang Kereta session that took place during the Saturday event, the Johor princes shared with fans about their motorsports careers and experiences, inspiring students to pursue their passions within the motorsports realm.
Attendees were also treated to an immersive encounter with the princes’ race cars, the Mercedes AMG GT3, providing a firsthand look at these high-performance vehicles on racing circuits worldwide.
The one-day event also saw attendees enjoying all kinds of fun activities and even getting autographed merch from the Johor princes.
From 12.30pm to 5pm, local racing fans got to try their hand at various fun activities, ranging from fun carnival games to racing simulators. Winners even got to bring home KFC vouchers!
