Kuala Lumpur, 30 March 2020 – QSR Brands (M) Holdings Berhad, the franchise owner and operator of KFC and Pizza Hut Malaysia, under the aegis of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), is extending its support to Malaysia’s frontliners and the underserved communities during this unprecedented Covid-19 situation.
With the recent extension of the Movement Control Order (MCO) to 14 April 2020, both brands are pledging to serve meals to the community and lighten the hardship of the nation throughout this period. Since the beginning of the MCO, QSR Brands has taken proactive steps to give back to communities in need and those who have been soldiering on through these difficult times.
KFC and Pizza Hut Malaysia have since delivered more than 10,700 meals to health workers, firemen, policemen, media, and public service workers at our frontline as well as university students and the underserved communities at more than 100 locations across 13 states in Malaysia. It is estimated that at least 20,000 meals will reach our national heroes, as well a the underserved individuals throughout the MCO period.
In mobilising this, KFC and Pizza Hut have not only engaged their own riders to deliver food to our deserving frontliners, but also partnered with Kechara Soup Kitchen to distribute food to the underprivileged and homeless communities in Kuala Lumpur. In addition, through QSR Brands’ long-standing strategic partnerships with Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan, Majlis Agama Islam Melaka, Majlis Agama Islam Kedah, Zakat Pulau Pinang,
Majlis Agama Islam Pulau Pinang, Pusat Zakat Sabah, Jabatan Agama Islam Labuan, and Lembaga Zakat Selangor, these organizations have joined hands to distribute meals to frontliners and the underprivileged as a responsibility they hold strongly to Malaysians who are in need.

In navigating through these unprecedented times, KFC and Pizza Hut Malaysia launched ‘Contactless Delivery’ that ensures a contact-free manner between the food delivery rider and recipient, in line with the government’s health, social, and safety guidelines.
