Bukit Mertajam, 12 November 2017 – In an effort to ease the burden of their employees, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands), the region’s largest quick service restaurant operator, with over 1,100 KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants in Malaysia has contributed close to RM 100,000 to their employees that were affected by the Penang  flood crisis.

87 employees were affected by the recent flood crisis. Each affected employee received RM 1,000 in cash as well as food supplies worth RM 100. The contribution by QSR Brands is in line with its commitment to its employees’ wellbeing and safety.

QSR Brands’ Managing Director Datuk Mohamed Azahari Kamil who visited employees and their families to offer his support and to hand over the contribution said, “We truly emphatise with the community in Penang and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the floods. Of course, our employees’ welfare is our greatest concern and we will continue to look out for them at times of crisis and to assist in any way possible,” said Datuk Azahari.

Meanwhile, Johor Corporation, the parent company of QSR Brands, has deployed its voluntary team to help and assists flood victims in Penang through its relief mission ‘JCorp Prihatin Pulau Pinang’. The team, Briged Waqaf, were involved at 18 flood relief centres in three districts in Penang.
