KLUANG, 22 OCTOBER 2018 – QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands) continues to expand its strategic partnership with developer, Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad (Matrix Concepts), this time to bring finger lickin’ good excitement to the residents of the sprawling township of Bandar Seri Impian, Kluang, Johor.
Following a successful collaboration and the launching of KFC’s 700th restaurant in Seremban recently, QSR Brands entered into a consecutive partnership with the same developer to establish a new KFC Drive-Thru in the up-and-coming commercial centre in Kluang district, set to open its doors by the fourth quarter of 2019.
A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed, followed by a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the inauguration of the collaborative project between QSR Brands and Matrix Concepts at the township’s commercial hub, Impiana Square.
The MoA was signed by Ling Mee Jiuan, Chief Operating Officer of KFC Malaysia and Leong Jee Van, Chief Executive Officer of Property Development Matrix Concepts. Also present at the ceremony were Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Managing Director of QSR Brands and Ho Kong Soon, Group Managing Director of Matrix Concepts.
This event marks another milestone in the progress of Bandar Seri Impian since its founding. The proposed KFC restaurant is within the 182 commercial development units which are supported by 4,800 residential units. Notably, Impiana Square is poised to be the new commercial hub within the Kluang district owing to its strategic location that is right beside the Kluang – Pasir Gudang Highway, also known as Kluang Southgate.
Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari stated that strategic partnership with prominent developers is an integral part of QSR Brands’ restaurants expansion strategy as it is a key growth component proven to serve long-term benefits to the company. “QSR Brands and Matrix Concepts have been able to achieve mutual business success by leveraging on each other’s strengths since our last partnership in 2017. Today’s strategic collaboration is another testimony of our aspiration to widen our foothold and continue to serve Malaysians better with our original and innovative offerings supported by our excellent service and quality dining experience provided,” he added.
Speaking during the event, Ho Kong Soon added, “The proposed KFC restaurant is located in Kluang’s biggest township, which comprises of 1,800 acres of mix development. Up to date, Matrix has managed to unlock the value of 900 acres of land with its residential and commercial, in the fun and exciting family-oriented self-sustaining township.”
This partnership will see the development of a KFC Drive-Thru restaurant on a 38,000-square feet of land that will be able to accommodate up to 150 customers at one time. Located within the vicinity of Kluang Town Centre, the restaurant will be the first drive-thru concept in Kluang serving as a rendezvous point while providing convenience and attractive amenity to the township’s residents and its visitors.
