KUALA LUMPUR, 26 OCTOBER 2018 – KFC Malaysia is a proud winner of the recently concluded Putra Brand, The People Choice Awards 2018, bagging its fourth consecutive Gold in the Fast Food & Restaurant category since 2015, therefore crowned with one of the most coveted accolades of the night, the Putra Brand Icon Award. Meanwhile, Pizza Hut Malaysia bagged the Bronze Award under the same category thus affirms the brand’s position as one of the most preferred brands by consumers in Malaysia.
The awards were received by QSR Brands’ Managing Director, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, accompanied by QSR Brands’ Restaurants CEO, Merrill Pereyra and the respective Chief Operating Officer for KFC & Pizza Hut, Ling Mee Jiuan & Loi Liang Tok. The awards night held at the Majestic Hotel, on Friday 26 October was also attended by Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim, President & Chief Executive of Johor Corporation cum Chairman of QSR Brands.
Over 7,000 interviews were conducted in the biggest brand research ever in Malaysia to determine the country’s most preferred brands. KFC & Pizza Hut Malaysia once again reigned supreme as the one of the people’s choice brands, in the high octane awards night. A total of 148 awards were presented including three Putra Brand Icon Awards, during the ceremony which was attended by more than 1,300 guests, from leaders of powerhouse brands, the marketers to agencies.
Launched in 2010, the Putra Brand Awards is an initiative by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) to recognise local and international brands closest to the hearts of Malaysians, measuring brands by consumer preference. This premier brand awards is the only brand awards in the country endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and chosen by the people, for the people.
