PETALING JAYA, 13 December 2024 – Add Hope Malaysia the philanthropic initiative by KFC Malaysia recently pledged its commitment to supporting communities affected by the recent floods. With a generous contribution of RM100,000 dedicated to meal distribution initiatives, KFC Malaysia will provide immediate food relief to those displaced by this devastating natural disaster. This effort ensures that essential meals reach the most vulnerable during this critical time.

“The mission is to support those in crisis, no matter the circumstance. Through Add Hope, our contribution to the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) will be focused on delivering KFC meals to temporary evacuation centers in the hardest-hit regions, particularly in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, and Johor. “Nehchal Khanna, Managing Director of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd said.

By mobilising resources and coordinating efforts with NADMA and the Malaysian Red Crescent, displaced individuals and families will receive the nourishment they urgently need. Together, more than 6,000 KFC meals shall be delivered to the evacuees at the flood relief centers and homes.

NADMA plays a crucial role in coordinating disaster response efforts across Malaysia, ensuring that resources are efficiently allocated and that affected communities receive timely assistance. The Malaysian Red Crescent supports these efforts by providing on-the-ground aid, including medical services, emergency shelter, and essential supplies to those in need.

The mock cheque was presented by Anis Yusof, Chief Communications Officer of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, to Hussain Moh, Deputy Director General of Disaster Relief Management of NADMA, along with Dato’ Danial Iskandar Abdul Rahman, Deputy Secretary General of the Malaysian Red Crescent.

“We believe that during times of crisis, it is our responsibility to stand in solidarity with those who are suffering. Our contribution of RM100,000 in meal aid is a step towards alleviating the hardships faced by flood victims,” Nehchal Khanna added.

“Add Hope Malaysia remains steadfast in its dedication to supporting communities in need. We vow to continue our efforts to assist those impacted by natural disasters throughout Malaysia, reinforcing our commitment to help rebuild lives and provide hope in times of adversity.” Anis commented.

“We look forward to future collaborations with NADMA and the Malaysian Red Crescent to enhance our collective impact and ensure that aid reaches those who need it most.”
