PETALING JAYA, 29 OCTOBER 2018 – QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands) through its marketing and distribution arm, QSR Trading Sdn Bhd (QSR Trading), has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Japan-based hygienic solutions provider, Takexco Malaysia Sdn Bhd (TAKEXCO), to become the sole distributor of Halal-certified food grade sanitizer products namely [Takex Clean QSR] & [Takex Clean Extra QSR] in Malaysia.

The MoU was signed by Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Managing Director, QSR Brands, and Mr. Takeshi Okada, Senior Executive Director Takex Co. Ltd in a ceremony held at Hilton Hotel, Petaling Jaya. Also present were the President & Chief Executive of Johor Corporation and Chairman of QSR Brands, Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim and and Ms. Kumi Okada, Director, Takexco Malaysia Sdn Bhd and President of Takex Co. Ltd.

In the MoU between both parties, QSR Trading is granted an exclusive right to become sole distributor of the world’s first halal certified food grade ethanol sanitizer products in Malaysia with a co-branded agreement under QSR Brands. Both [Takex Clean QSR] & [Takex Clean Extra QSR] sanitizers will also be used in all 48 Kedai Ayamas outlets across the country.

“This collaboration is in line with the new government’s aspiration to strengthen the momentum of Malaysia-Japan trade relationship. With the competencies and technological competitiveness from Japan and Malaysia’s highly skilled workforce and remarkable investment environment, there are varieties of potentials that can be further explored by both countries especially in the halal industry,” said Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim, the Chairman of QSR Brands.

“QSR Brands is a trusted name in providing a consummate halal assurance to all our customers. Today, will serve as a testament of QSR Brands and Takexco efforts which will strengthen our bilateral relationship in exchanging our expertise in this global halal industry. This collaboration with Takexco is a progressive step towards expanding our Halal credentials beyond our best practices and expertise in Halal food manufacturing and restaurant service operations. Both [Takex Clean QSR] and [Takex Clean Extra QSR] are Halal certified by JAKIM. We hope that we will be able to cater the needs for a perfect hygienic solution of the increasingly conscious consumers out there,” he added.

“We’re glad with this co-branding partnership and hopefully this initiative will set the benchmark for hygiene environment and food safety in compliance with the JAKIM Halal standard,” said Ms. Kumi Okada, Director, Takexco Malaysia Sdn Bhd and President of Takex Co. Ltd.

The [Takex Clean QSR] & [Takex Clean Extra QSR] are an ethanol based disinfecting agent containing extracts obtained from bamboo epidermis – Phyllostachys Pubescens, as the active ingredients. These products are made using food grade materials and is also certified HALAL by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) which is known to be one of the most stringent accreditation bodies for Halal.

JOHOR BAHRU, 23 OKT 2018:  QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands), syarikat pengendali rangkaian restoran KFC di Malaysia, Singapura, Brunei dan Kemboja, hari ini menandatangani Perjanjian Kerjasama (MoA) dengan Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), bagi menubuhkan Kursi Syed Naquib Al-Attas di universiti tersebut.

Perjanjian itu ditandatangani oleh Pengarah Urusan QSR Brands, Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Seri Mohemed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, dengan Naib Canselor UTM, Yang Berbahagia Prof Datuk Ir Dr Wahid Omar, pada majlis di Dewan Banquet, Bangunan Canseleri Sultan Ibrahim, UTM Kampus Johor Bahru.

Menerusi perjanjian tersebut, QSR Brands bakal menyalurkan sumbangan sebanyak RM2 juta kepada Tabung Endowmen UTM yang bakal ditempatkan di Pusat Kajian Tinggi Islam, Sains dan Peradaban (CASIS), UTM.

Hadir bercemar duli pada majlis menandatangani perjanjian berkenaan iaitu Canselor UTM, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, Permaisuri Johor.

Penubuhan Kursi Syed Naquib Al-Attas adalah bagi memperkasa bidang penyelidikan dan akademik serta menggalakkan perkongsian kepakaran, sumber manusia dan idea di antara institusi pendidikan tinggi, industri serta masyarakat.

Seterusnya, inisiatif itu diyakini mampu menyumbang kepada kesejahteraan rakyat Johor sejajar dengan peranan UTM selaku Institusi Inovasi Strategik Johor.

Turut hadir iaitu Presiden dan Ketua Eksekutif Johor Corporation merangkap Pengerusi QSR Brands, Yang Berhormat Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim. Berucap di dalam majlis berkenaan, beliau menjelaskan, dana yang disalurkan adalah berbentuk endowmen iaitu hasil pelaburan daripada dana yang disumbangkan sahaja akan digunakan bagi mengoperasikan Kursi Syed Naquib Al-Attas (90 peratus) dan pengurusan endowmen UTM (10 peratus).

Tambah beliau, Tan Sri Syed Muhammad al-Naquib bin Ali al-Attas adalah seorang tokoh falsafah Islam. Turut dikenali sebagai Syed Naquib Al-Attas, beliau merupakan antara skolar kontemporari dalam sains Islam tradisional – dalam bidang teologi, filosofi, metafizik, sejarah dan sastera. Beliau juga pelopor kepada idea Islamisasi pengetahuan atau Islamisation of knowledge.

“Falsafah dan metodologi beliau dalam pendidikan menumpu hanya satu matlamat – Islamisasi minda, jasmani dan jiwa serta dicerminkan melalui keperibadian dan kehidupan kolektif umat Islam serta yang lain.

“Tokoh besar ini juga meninggalkan pemikiran Islam dan tamadun dalam 27 buku karya beliau khususnya mengenai Sufisme, kosmologi, metafizik, Bahasa Melayu serta kesusteraan.

“Hari ini, Johor Corporation melalui QSR Brands terpanggil untuk memastikan legasi ilmu yang hebat ini diwarisi generasi muda kita. Semua khazanah itu bukan setakat diwarisi malah dicerna secara akademik untuk kita dapatkan pati ilmu dan falsafahnya,” katanya.

Sementara itu, Prof Datuk Ir Dr Wahid berkata, perjanjian dan penyaluran dana tersebut adalah penting dan signifikan kepada UTM.

“Perjanjian dan penyaluran dana ini secara langsung menunjukkan telah terjalin hubungan yang erat antara UTM dengan pihak industri, khususnya Johor Corporation melalui QSR Brands.

“Di samping itu, melalui dana yang disalurkan akan menyumbang kepada penyuburan budaya penyelidikan di UTM kerana sebahagian besar hasil pelaburan daripada dana tersebut akan digunakan untuk membiayai geran penyelidikan kepada pemegang Kursi Syed Naquib Al-Attas di CASIS, UTM Kuala Lumpur,” katanya.

KLUANG, 22 OCTOBER 2018 – QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands) continues to expand its strategic partnership with developer, Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad (Matrix Concepts), this time to bring finger lickin’ good excitement to the residents of the sprawling township of Bandar Seri Impian, Kluang, Johor.

Following a successful collaboration and the launching of KFC’s 700th restaurant in Seremban recently, QSR Brands entered into a consecutive partnership with the same developer to establish a new KFC Drive-Thru in the up-and-coming commercial centre in Kluang district, set to open its doors by the fourth quarter of 2019.

A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed, followed by a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the inauguration of the collaborative project between QSR Brands and Matrix Concepts at the township’s commercial hub, Impiana Square.

The MoA was signed by Ling Mee Jiuan, Chief Operating Officer of KFC Malaysia and Leong Jee Van, Chief Executive Officer of Property Development Matrix Concepts. Also present at the ceremony were Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Managing Director of QSR Brands and Ho Kong Soon, Group Managing Director of Matrix Concepts.

This event marks another milestone in the progress of Bandar Seri Impian since its founding. The proposed KFC restaurant is within the 182 commercial development units which are supported by 4,800 residential units. Notably, Impiana Square is poised to be the new commercial hub within the Kluang district owing to its strategic location that is right beside the Kluang – Pasir Gudang Highway, also known as Kluang Southgate.

Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari stated that strategic partnership with prominent developers is an integral part of QSR Brands’ restaurants expansion strategy as it is a key growth component proven to serve long-term benefits to the company. “QSR Brands and Matrix Concepts have been able to achieve mutual business success by leveraging on each other’s strengths since our last partnership in 2017. Today’s strategic collaboration is another testimony of our aspiration to widen our foothold and continue to serve Malaysians better with our original and innovative offerings supported by our excellent service and quality dining experience provided,” he added.

Speaking during the event, Ho Kong Soon added, “The proposed KFC restaurant is located in Kluang’s biggest township, which comprises of 1,800 acres of mix development. Up to date, Matrix has managed to unlock the value of 900 acres of land with its residential and commercial, in the fun and exciting family-oriented self-sustaining township.”

This partnership will see the development of a KFC Drive-Thru restaurant on a 38,000-square feet of land that will be able to accommodate up to 150 customers at one time. Located within the vicinity of Kluang Town Centre, the restaurant will be the first drive-thru concept in Kluang serving as a rendezvous point while providing convenience and attractive amenity to the township’s residents and its visitors.
