700th KFC ARRIVES IN BANDAR SRI SENDAYAN

SEREMBAN, 18 SEPTEMBER 2018 – QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, the sole operator of over 1,080 KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants in Malaysia, is showing no sign of slowing down with the successful launch of its 700th KFC outlet in the vibrant downtown of Bandar Sri Sendayan today, as part of its nationwide expansion strategies.

The opening of KFC Sri Sendayan Drive-Thru was officiated by Greg Creed, CEO of Yum! Brands, Inc., in an honour to KFC Malaysia’s new milestone with the presence of Yang Berhormat Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim, Chairman of QSR Brands and Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Managing Director, QSR Brands, during his official visit to Malaysia.

QSR Brands has taken the lead in fulfilling the demands for commercial offerings in Bandar Sri Sendayan by inking a strategic partnership with the township’s developer, Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad back in November last year, resulting in the opening of the very first KFC restaurant in Bandar Sri Sendayan.

Dato’ Kamaruzzaman highlighted that the 700th KFC restaurant is a significant milestone for the Group, as it also coincides with Johor Corporation celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. “It signifies growth and also optimism about charting future success. It’s milestones like this that serves as building blocks for us to continue commanding our leadership in the very competitive quick service industry”, he reiterated.

The newly launched 24-hour KFC restaurant is able to accommodate 170 customers at one time, equipped with drive-thru facility. KFC Sri Sendayan Drive-Thru is also built with eco-friendly and energy saving technology including rainwater harvester system, LED lighting, solar light tubes, motion sensor light, and low-emissivity glass as part of the company’s responsibilities towards the environment.

PUTRAJAYA, 5 September 2018 – QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (operator of KFC, Pizza Hut and Ayamas) contributed RM528,700.23 to Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP). This is part of QSR Brands’ total Business Zakat distribution amount of RM 9,975,476.00 for the financial year ended 2017.
Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari bin Mohamed Kamil, the Managing Director of QSR Brands, presented the Business Zakat contribution on behalf of the QSR Brands Group of Companies to the representative of PPZ-MAIWP, Dato’ Dr. Mujahid Yusof, Minister at the Prime Minister Office, (Religious Affair). The event was held in Dewan Satria, Dorsett Hotel, Presint 3, Putrajaya.
“This is our small contribution in sharing the success and profits that we have achieved all this while. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication by our fellow employees at QSR Brands that has produced very encouraging results for the company. We hope that with this contribution, QSR Brands will continue to benefit everyone,” said Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari.
Also present at the event were the YB Deputy Minister, Hajah Fuziah Salleh, Director General of JAKIM and Chairman of MAIWP and other corporate bodies from EXIM Bank, MayBank Islamic, MBSB Bank, Affin Islamic Bank and Bank Pembangunan.
QSR Brands will join any ceremony planned by the Zakat Collection Centres to hand-over the payments to the underprivileged.

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 September 2018 – QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands), syarikat pengeluar makanan bersepadu dan pengendali rangkaian restoran terbesar di rantau ini dengan lebih daripada 1,260 restoran KFC dan Pizza Hut di Malaysia, Singapura, Brunei dan Kemboja; telah menandatangani sebuah Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) dengan Widad Education Sdn. Bhd. bagi kolaborasi untuk mewujudkan peluang pembangunan, sokongan dan memperkayakan aktiviti penyelidikan dan program pendidikan dan latihan dalam bidang-bidang yang akan memberi manfaat kepada kedua-dua belah pihak.

Kerjasama QSR Brands meliputi penyediaan penempatan latihan industri kepada para pelajar Widad Education Sdn Bhd di dalam jurusan yang berkaitan dengan industri pengurusan restoran mengikut terma dan syarat yang telah ditetapkan dan penawaran tempat untuk pembelajaran berasaskan ‘work based learning’.

Di samping itu, QSR Brands dan Widad Education Sdn Bhd akan berkongsi sumber dan kepakaran di dalam bidang tertentu, serta memberi peluang kepada anggota pekerja di restoran – restoran QSR Brands yang kompeten dan terlatih untuk memperoleh pengiktirafan profesional khusus untuk pembangunan kerjaya mereka di dalam industri ini.

MoU berkenaan telah ditandatangani oleh YBhg. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Pengarah Urusan QSR Brands dan YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Rizal Bin Mohd Jaafar, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Widad Business Group dalam satu majlis yang diadakan di Royal Widad Residence UTM KL. Majlis ini turut melibatkan MoU bersama tiga (3) lagi organisasi iaitu Mastem, Widyatama Universiti dan Esa Unggul Universiti serta disaksikan ahli-ahli Lembaga Pengarah Universiti, Naib Canselor Widad University College, Ketua Pegawai Operasi Widad Education Sdn Bhd, dekan-dekan fakulti.

YBhg. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil berkata kerjasama strategik bersama Widad Education Sdn Bhd ini adalah salah satu daripada inisiatif tanggungjawab korporat untuk menyumbang dalam sektor pendidikan.

“Kami amat berbesar hati untuk menyertai kolaborasi bersama Widad Education Sdn Bhd kerana ini merupakan sebahagian daripada tanggungjawab kami di dalam menyumbang ke dalam pembangunan sektor pendidikan di Malaysia. Kerjasama ini juga memberi peluang kepada para pelajar untuk memperluaskan ilmu dengan pendedahan awal dalam industri pekerjaan melalui latihan industri yang bakal dilaksanakan melalui kolaborasi ini.

Tambah beliau, “Di samping itu, perjanjian ini akan memberi peluang kepada peningkatan kepakaran anggota pekerja kami terutamanya di dalam bidang pengurusan restoran dengan menyediakan pengiktirafan profesional yang khusus dalam bidang pengurusan restoran dalam industri yang serba kompetitif ini. Kolaborasi ini dapat menyumbang kepada aspek pembangunan kerjaya anggota pekerja kami seterusnya memberi peluang buat QSR untuk terus mengekalkan kedudukan sebagai peneraju pasaran dalam segmen perkhidmatan restoran terkemuka di Malaysia.
